Job Summary:

Coordination and management of resident care and nursing personnel on the nursing unit on the 3-11 Shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accurately interpret and assure compliance with established policies, procedures and philosophy of care Responsible for total operation of a unit with 40 residents. Supervise the professional nursing care given to all residents on the unit. Supervise complete care given by Certified Nursing Assistants on the unit to residents. Work closely with the multidiciplinary departments to provide optimal for the residents to meet the needs of each resident. Enforce policies and procedures of St. Patrick’s Manor as related to nursing personnel. Arrange staffing on the nursing unit to provide adequate coverage according to daily requirements. Collaborate with shift supervisors scheduling coordinator for week time schedule for the nurses. Convey all pertinent information to the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing Services. Evaluate all emergency situations with follow through to family and ancillary medical professionals as required. Participate in special committees as necessary reporting back to the unit on new interventions and protocols. Meet with Director and Assistant Director of Nursing Services on a regular basis and communicate pertinent information to all staff members. Hold meetings on the unit to discuss problems and keep lines of communication open. Take active part in Resident Care Planning and oversee that all shifts fulfill their responsibility in the MDS process. Education/Experience:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Minimum of 2 years recent geriatric experience or applicable management experience and IV certified or certifiable.
