We are currently seeking a dedicated RN to join our team at Falmouth Hospital. Participates in patient and family teaching. Demonstrates leadership abilities by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing in the LDRP setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Practices according to entity mandatory requirements. Practices according to department expectations. Practices with a Customer Service approach to all activities Cares for patients utilizing the nursing process. Provides care as part of the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes internal and external resources. Provides effective patient/family teaching. Documents according to entity/Department guidelines. Administers medications safely. Provides care according to best practice standards of care in nursing. Identifies signs and symptoms of neglect/abuse and reports as required by law. Cares for the terminally ill patient and family. Manages the patient with pain. Utilizes chemical and physical restraints as per policy. Utilizes techniques of time management effectively. Provides care respective of patient's advance directives. Maintains appropriate licenses, certifications, registrations required to perform duties of their designated role/position. Addresses age-specific needs of infants, adolescents, adults. Performs skills safely and according to specific policies. Manages the patient with fetal heart monitoring according to department polices/procedures. Manages patients with Intravenous Therapy. Uses Meditech appropriately and accurately. Manages the intra-partum patient according to policy / procedure. Manages patients receiving epidural analgesia. Manages integrated mother/baby care. Manages the patient receiving obstetric analgesia and/or anesthesia. Responds appropriately in emergency/urgent situations. Provides care to post-operative patients. Manages the post partum patient according to policies/procedures. Manages GYN patient care. Handles patients' antepartum needs. Care for patients with fetal loss. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 2-3 Year recent inpatient maternity experience required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Current Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the Commonwealth of Masschusetts. Current BLS certification.
