American Red Cross Mobile Unit Assistant in Dedham, Massachusetts

Job Description:

From driving the team to mobile blood drives, to setting up blood collection equipment at work sites, as a Mobile Unit Driver with the American Red Cross you will work all aspects of blood drives at schools, offices & churches throughout Dedham, MA and the surrounding areas. MUA drivers may be required to have a valid CDL and the desire to be crossed trained to be a phlebotomist. There is paid training, which is a mix of classroom instruction and field practice that is completed in a full-time, 8-week course.

Key performance objectives for the MUA include:

· An MUA has a high level of customer service and goes above and beyond to ensure that all donors have an optimum donor experience.

· The ability to lift up to 75lbs on a regular basis as MUA's drive to various locations, set up, tear down and packs the blood drive.

· Desire to be cross trained as a phlebotomist.

· Ability to remain flexible to work a highly variable schedule that includes early start times, late end times, weekends & holidays to meet the needs of our blood drive sponsors and donors.

· Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand the value of their donation

· Take care of your team members – show up for every shift and give 100% while you're there.

· Contribute to a friendly and fun environment. Team up with your co-workers to keep our donors coming back again and again.

Be a model of professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation's largest not-for-profit blood banking organization.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Basic Computer skills. A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required (commercial driver's license may be required). Previous truck driving experience is preferred. May be required to pass DOT physical and related requirements. Basic computer skills are required. Effective verbal communication and public relations skills are required.
