Cambridge Health Alliance Certified Nurse Midwife in Cambridge, Massachusetts
- The Cambridge Midwifery Practice at Cambridge Health Alliance is seeking an experience midwife to work per diem. Our practice serves a diverse, multicultural client population. In addition to hospital birth, we offer birth at The Cambridge Birth Center. The Birth Center is a beautifully renovated Victorian home located directly across the street from the hospital. Our birth center is certified by the American Birth Center Association and we are nationally accredited as 'Baby Friendly.'
This position would be a day/night shift rotation for triage, intrapartum and postpartum care on our Maternity Unit and at the Birth Center as needed. In this role, the qualified candidate will be responsible for the practice of midwifery as outlined in the Policies Specific to and Scope of Practice for Certified Nurse Midwives as established by CHA and the American College of Nurse-Midwives
Qualified candidates must possess the following: ACNM certified midwife -Licensed in MA with 2 years experience preferred. -Master's preparation preferred -Language skills preferred -NRP & BLS (American Heart Association)certified -DEA & MA controlled substance certification - AHA BLS, PALS required. Must be able to physically negotiate clinical site, possess strength and endurance to perform physically for long periods of time, (up to 12 hours), i.e., walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting. -Must have the physical dexterity and psychomotor skills to respond adequately and appropriately to routine and emergent patient care needs in the clinical setting
