Clinical Educator on Child & Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Program

The McLean-Franciscan Child & Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Program needs a qualified teacher to join our team of helping professionals dedicated to creating a place of hope and healing for families, children & teens in psychiatric crisis.

  • 32-bed acute child/adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit with state-of-the-art care and access to the expertise of two of the region's foremost psychiatric and child/adolescent hospitals, McLean Hospital and Franciscan Hospital for Children.

Position Overview

  • The inpatient teacher collaborates with the two other teachers and the clinical team to provide therapeutic care and create an environment of hope with children, teens, and families. They develop an understanding of psychiatric trauma and crisis intervention, and apply this to daily education and interactions in hospital classroom, therapeutic group, expressive, recreational, and daily living situations within the hospital setting.

  • Full time, Mon-Fri, 12 month, permanent position currently available.

Education & experience

  • MA teacher's license, Bachelor's degree, and excellent interpersonal skills and work habits required. Previous experience and enthusiasm with recreational or expressive therapies and with children and teens in crisis preferred.
