  • The Michael Neely Neuroscience Critical Care Unit is an 8 bed ICU that focuses on patient and family centered care for critically ill neuroscience patients. This fast paced ICU has high acuity patients who require nurses with strong critical thinking skills and who also have the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The NCCU is fully equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring, mechanical ventilation and related intensive care support systems to provide comprehensive patient care in a critical care setting. The NCCU optimizes patient's outcomes through evidence-based practice. The patient population served includes acute and chronically ill adult patients with a variety of medical diagnoses. Nursing care focuses on care requirements that involve a higher frequency of surveillance, assessment, and intervention than can be provided on a general medical or surgical floor. The Professional Registered Nurse: - Possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of patient care from admission through discharge. - Is knowledgeable of current trends in healthcare including but not limited to advances in technology, pharmacology, treatment care modalities, quality and patient safety. - Serves as a patient and family advocate while facilitating a cooperative and collaborative environment among all health care providers. - Is responsible for the planning, delivery, and management of patient/family centered care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice embedded in research, evidence based practice, and/or best practices. - Promotes clinical excellence which fosters and supports an environment central to our patient and family centered model of care. Requirements: Ability to provide care for a designated group of patients according to unit guidelines and hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. Bachelors Degree in Nursing BLS Certification required Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License Please note: Scheduling may consist of both 8 and 12 hour shifts
