  • The Michael Neely Neuroscience Critical Care Unit is an 8 bed ICU that focuses on patient and family centered care to Neuroscience. This fast paced ICU has high acuity patients who require nurses with strong critical thinking skills and who also have the ability to collaborate well with multidisciplinary teams. The NSCCU is fully equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring, mechanical ventilation and related intensive care support systems to provide comprehensive patient care in a critical care setting. Monitoring capabilities include continuous 5-lead electrocardiogram, pulse oximetry, capnography, and invasive and non-invasive hemodynamics. The NSCCU optimizes patient's outcomes through evidence-based practice. The patient population served includes acute and chronically ill Adult patients age 16 years of age (Trauma Patients) through gerontology with a variety of medical diagnoses Nursing care focuses on care requirements that involve a higher frequency of surveillance, assessment, and intervention than can be provided on a general medical or surgical floor. The Professional Registered Nurse (RN) possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of patient care from admission through discharge. The professional registered nurse is knowledgeable of current trends in healthcare including but not limited to advances in technology, pharmacology, treatment care modalities, quality and patient safety. The professional registered nurse serves as a patient and family advocate while facilitating a cooperative and collaborative environment among all health care providers. The professional registered nurse is responsible for the planning, delivery and management of patient/family centered care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice embedded in research, evidence based practice and/or best practices. The professional registered nurse provides clinical excellence, which fosters and supports an environment central to our patient and family centered model of care. Requirements: Ability to provide care for a designated group of patients according to unit guidelines and hospital policies, procedures and protocols. Bachelors' Degree in Nursing BLS Certification required Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License Varies according to unit requirements and needs Please note: Scheduling may consist of both 8 and 12 hour shifts
