The Patient Experience Representative will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to a team of high-volume Pediatric Ophthalmologists including but not limited to: professional and clinical calendar management, reimbursement requests, patient insurance authorizations, and transportation arrangements.

  • Supporting said providers with complex scheduling needs and patient requests.

  • Working as a liaison between patients/families and clinicians.

  • Communicating with outside hospitals and services to obtain medical records, prepare charts, and refer/schedule additional appointments and services as needed.

  • Utilizing strong interpersonal skills and varied communication styles to correspond effectively with a diverse clinical team, administrative co-workers, area institutions, and varied patient populations to ensure the highest quality experience for all parties involved.

  • Organizing and acting as main point of contact for all aspects of Ophthalmology’s Residency program, from initial agreement-review, credentialing and on-boarding/orientation.

  • Acting as the “go to” person for program logistics and rotator questions.

  • Leading and performing administrative functions requiring in‑depth knowledge of departmental programs and services.

  • Working on additional ancillary projects as deemed necessary by supervisor.

  • Balancing varying responsibilities concurrently while adhering to timely deadlines.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A high school level of educational development and one to two years of previous experience such as customer service, administrative, or experience in a health care setting. Bachelor’s preferred.

  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.

  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to be detail oriented.
