This Clinical Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Under supervision of a registered nurse, provide basic bedside nursing care and practice some advanced nursing procedures, caring for complex pediatric patients.

  • In collaboration with the RN you will care for patients who may be on ventilators, with chest tubes, being hemodynamically monitored or with complex dressings and drainage tubes.

  • You may also be responsible for obtaining vital signs, perform EKG's and oxygen saturation measurements.

  • You will also work with staff to maintain unit (ordering/stocking) and provide support to families during this difficult time.

  • This is a progressive nursing assistant role with increasing responsibility for nursing care planning and an opportunity to practice in a family centered environment.

  • Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, 8:30-5:00 pm.

To qualify, you must have:

  • 1 year Clinical Assistant or Medical Assistant experience.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.

  • The ability to: exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies and relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees.

  • Good communication skills.

  • The ability to work on a team.

We’re part of the Department of Pediatrics. We see patients from medical specialties- the biggest users of the clinic are GI, allergy, pulmonary and endocrine. We also see patients from: hematology, genetics, Developmental Medicine, dermatology and adolescent. We cover all age spans including young adults. We do a lot of point of care testing. We also see some surgical patients and house the hospital’s Pilonidal Cyst Clinic. Office/Site Location:WalthamRegular, Temporary, Per Diem:Regular Remote Eligibility :Onsite Only
