Job Description

Position Summary: The Medical Assistant assists physicians/clinicians with the delivery of patient care. The primary responsibility will be focused on performing technical, therapeutic, administrative tasks and procedures for which they have been educated. The Medical Assistant must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a Patient Care Team as a multi-skilled caregiver responsible for quality of own work and remain flexible in response to change. Performs all medical assistant functions in a medical outpatient setting for adult patients. Responsible for telephone triage. Renders patient care within the scope of their training, including but not limited too: obtaining vitals, documenting pertinent medical history and assisting physicians with minor procedures. Prepares exam rooms and restocks supplies. Calls in prescription refill orders and coordinates patients care with other providers and/or facilities.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  1. High School equivalent

  2. Medical Assistant certificate required

  3. Multi-skilled Training: EKG, phlebotomy,

simple respiratory & rehabilitative functions.

Certification/License:

  1. Medical Assistant

  2. BCLS

Shift

8 hours, Wednesday 8am-4:30pm
