Job Description

The Manager of Rehab Practice ensures that the highest standard of rehabilitation services is delivered and maintained. Encourages and promotes the professional development of therapy staff through education, competency programs, and transfer of skills. Evaluates orientation and training for rehab staff. Develops continuing education programs and other opportunities for learning. Facilitates the development and implementation of rehab specialty programs. Works collaboratively with team clinical managers to support therapists in the field. This position also assists in integration of rehabilitation services across all locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate rehab clinical education in response to staff development needs.

  • Promotes accountability to the provision of evidence based care and adherence to care delivery standards.

  • Enhance and develop the skills of therapy staff through in-service education and joint field visits

  • Serve as Clinical Champion for home health therapy programs.

  • Participates in the development of orientation for rehab staff.

  • Assists in the annual competency program for rehab staff.

  • Reviews individual therapist outcomes and supports staff in identifying strategies to improve outcomes as needed.

  • Serve as a resource for therapy documentation reviews.

  • Increase agency leadership's ability to interact with therapists through in-services for clinical leaders and documentation review with leadership.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards for the rehab program.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate from an accredited program for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology

Master's degree in OT, PT or SLP. Doctorate preferred.

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

Must have an active license in physical (MSPT or DPT), occupational (MSOT), or speech therapy (MA, MS, CCC-SLP).

Experience:

5+ years recent Medicare Certified Home Care experience required.

5+ years clinical therapy experience required.

Experience in a management or educational role preferred.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Solid knowledge of home health Medicare/Medicaid regulations.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal skills. Able to facilitate cooperation and communication among team members.

Must possess the ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.

Must possess the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects and to prioritize.

Must possess the ability to provide clear and accurate direction, and the ability to train others.

Well-developed written and oral communication skills.

Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and ability to learn new programs.
